March 2015 Taxco shopping trip

So I made the 12 hour (door to door) trip for a week of search, search and buy!! I stayed in a 17th C Monastery very close to the middle of town and I hit the streets.I was sure to visit all my favorite vendors but the real reason to go is to find the new designers and the new trends. Every afternoon I would ship home my day's booty and in the end it was about 150 lbs of sterling silver jewelry. I bought 500 pair of earring, several hundred rings and fabulous, unique necklaces. I am anxious to see the response to the new merchandise. Jane

The July Gift Show is over and I missed seeing a number of my clients. I hope you were all sunning on a beautiful beach in an exotic local. If you need more silver I am happy to help you by email with photos or the old fashioned telephone. I was just back from a buying trip to Taxco so I have a wonderful selection of new designs and many of the old favorites. We did have an exciting new client who is the buyer for the 5 major museum stores in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She was on her way down my aisle, stopped and loved my silver. Many of which she said she had never seen. Thank you Sara  for your business. We also had a nice sale to MOLA in Long Beach who are a returning client. Also a new buyer for the Mission at San Juan Capistrano. My silver is a favorite of museums and I believe that is because of its uniqueness and quality all at good prices.





I am off to Hawaii the end of August for some R and R but no shows until the end of October.

         October 25-26 I will be at the LA Woman's Conference at the Convention Center.
This is a new event for me and it looks exciting. There will be lots of celebrity speakers and products designed for women.

Welcome to Sara from Santa Fe!

The Buyer and Comptroller for MOLA. 

Yes I am back-feeling good and looking forward to working more. I have a happy heart and hope it will continue to be happy. I have had a couple of shows that I didn't report on and let me just say that I really enjoyed seeing all my friends at the Palos Verdes Art Center Home Tour and had a record show for sales. Thank you all for your support and friendship. I think of you all as my friends after all these years.

This will be the last show where I will have a good selection of  Milagro art. It has become too hard to get and I want to concentrate on the silver jewelry from Taxco. You will be very pleased with all the new pieces I have and as always I do my best to bring you great wholesale prices.
I have expanded my copper line and have even done some production of the copper. It is also made in Taxco by the silver craftsmen.
I have a new line of the fancy fillagre earrings that are very beautiful. They are so reflective of the old Spanish influence.

Summer's gone-Holidays are coming

I spent the summer gearing up for a busy fall and holiday season. Before all the work my husband
Lance and I went on a cruise up the East Coast to celebrate our 50 th anniversary. I called it the Lobster crawl. We started in New York  City and ended in Montreal, Canada. We had wonderful food-I actually got tired of lobster and we saw beautiful port after port. We had carriage rides and I even did some shopping for Design Imports. I found some fabulous Santas in Sydney, Nova Scotia. They're made from recycled furs and doll faces. I have never seen more beautiful!!

    Well I had a hicup!!! Thought I had a pinched nerve in my neck and was having small strokes. At least I didn't need help in Newfoundland. on Oct 13 I went to the hospital where I stayed for 9 days.I had vascular surgery then my heart decided to act up!! So I have spent the last few weeks resting at home.
I had a booth at the new Christmas cash and carry show but I wasn't able to go so my great associates, Alex, Lori and Linda filled in for me. Thanks ladies!
My next show is Dec 7-8 as a vendor for the Holiday Look Inn
I am home and if you need to do some holiday shopping just give me a call 626-799-2233. I will give you wholesale prices as long as you can come here and shop on the dining room table.

July 2013 Gift Show

Whew!!!! The July Gift Show is over! And a very sucessful show it was. For the first time we had 4 people working at one time. My sincere thanks to Alex ( my right hand and more), Linda ( our newest  recruit-she is so easy to work with), Lance Bird (grandson extraordinaire-credit card guru and all round great help) and Elizabeth ( my daughter who came on Sun with sandwiches from Phillipes and stayed to work.) Behind the scenes are my husband Lance who helps us move in, set up and tear down. When he isn't a teamster he is an architect who is very busy. Yoal (Alex's friend also helped with set up etc.)  I would not be able to do this show without all this support. I hope you all know that and I love you all.
Now on to my clients! You are all so much fun, so loyal and patient.I know sometimes you have to wait for help and our credit card machine gave us fits but I hope it was worth it. I am so happy with the size of our booth and with 20' of showcases you can all look while you are waiting.  I want you to know I am working almost every day to bring you great silver at good prices. I will be off to Taxco before the next show so there will be lots of new pieces.

June1, 2013  I am proud to announce the First piece in the Jane Bird Collection of sterling silver
 Produced by hand in Taxco, Mexico-Manos Amorosas

              I found this design on a trip and believe it was made in the 30's or 40's in Taxco. I bought the vintage earrings for my personal use and Lightbulb. They are too fabulous to keep to myself  so my collection has been born. I am having them made for me in Taxco and they will be available for the first time at the
